| Описание | Cathedral of Christ's Resurrection ([Church of the] "Savior on the Blood") (2a Griboyedov Canal Embankment, St. Petersburg, Russia). Built on the spot of March 1,1881 assassination of Russian Emperor Alexander II the Liberator by members of a Russian revolutionary terrorist organization People's Will, the last and the only successful attempt on his life in a long series. The emperor had issued a famous manifesto of February 19, 1861, prescribing landowners to emancipate their serfs, and ordinary people were grateful for receiving personal freedom, collecting the money for this church.
