| Описание | This "Memorial for the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic" is 70 km west of Murmansk, on the road to the Norwegian border and close to the Zapadnaya Litsa River. From 1941 - 1944 the Litsa River formed the frontline between German and Finnish troops on the west, trying to take Murmansk, and Soviet troops on the east, defending the city (in which they succeeded). Thousands perished here in the tundras. |
